Apple Intelligence
Get suggested filenames or a plan of supported file operations, then review it before running.
How to use it
- Enable Apple Intelligence in macOS and make sure its on-device model is available.
- Select images or PDFs and choose Rename with Apple Intelligence…. Review the suggested names before confirming.
- For image, video, or audio operations, choose Ask Apple Intelligence…, describe the result, review the plan, and run it.
What you can do
- Rename with Apple Intelligence…
- Preview and confirm content-based names for images and PDFs.
- Rename Contents with Apple Intelligence…
- The same for the images and PDFs directly inside a folder.
- Ask Apple Intelligence…
- Turn a request into a plan of image, video, or audio operations, review it, then run it.
Support and limits
- Folder renaming covers images and PDFs directly inside the selected folder. Other file types are not content-renamed by this feature.
- Plans are limited to operations supported by MacEase. Review suggestions; generated names and plans may need correction.
- These features require Apple Intelligence. Conversion, compression, and other non-AI operations do not.
- OCR and subtitle transcription are separate features. Transcription uses Speech; translated subtitles use Translation and their installed language assets.
Saving and Undo
Conversions and edits save a new file by default. Replace original verifies the result before moving the source to the Trash. Undo can skip files changed since the operation or originals no longer in the Trash.
